Does Changing The Cabin Filter Stop Chirping Noise?

  1. 2011 with 112K. At one point fashion back there was a bad bearing (or something similar that) in the fan motor for the a/c and heater fan, and that was a warranty repair, have non had any more problem with that.

Over the past several months in that location is now a kind of similar constant squeak coming from the surface area behind the glove box. I pulled out the cabin air filter and plant acorns in information technology (how the heck did acorns get into my cabin air filter?!) merely I emptied them out and put a new filter in it. The squeak stopped for a couple days. At this point if I mess with the cabin air filter a little bit the squeak will get away for a few minutes and then come back.

What could exist causing that? How do I fix information technology?

    Thanks!

Pull the filter and drive west/o it a day or two, and see if the noise stays stopped.

Then at to the lowest degree you lot've isolated a trouble expanse for certain.

Then double check the installation (I think they accept an air period indicator) to make sure it'southward in correctly. Just in example upside down makes it touch something.

Also examine the door that seals the filter in place. It may exist moving a bit and chaffing on the example?

Wait you lot mean whole acorns or bits and pieces lol? Tin can't aid you with the squeaking but I think when some one with dingy shoes sits in the rider seat, they leave backside dirt and acorns on the carpet. Right if I'm wrong but I think the cabin air filter vacuums some air towards the flooring crusade information technology faces the carpeting and it picks up these dirt particles.

I would NOT recommend driving around without the cabin filter. There is a lot more exposure to the exterior than you'd call back. Without the filter - if you lot get one piece of dirt, one leaf, or droppings of any kind in that fan....you lot're screwed.

And yes...they are 'directional' and each filter volition accept an arrow pointing which style the air should period. The airflow comes in from the superlative so the pointer should always point down.

These cabin filters get dirty a lot quicker than you recall. I remove / supplant / clean mine in one case a year.

At that place were no filters in whatever previous generations, and none for decades in whatsoever vehicle.

While information technology is i of the 'modern' features that I actually like, I don't call back a day or two due west/o it in place is going to create a calamity........ all we're trying to practice here is determine if that'southward part of the noise she's trying to cure. If you have better suggestions on how to accomplish that, let's hear 'em.

The 'routing' of air was a lot different in the older vehicles......

Simply DON'T forget that you took it out. Out of sight...out of heed..... and and then, you lot're replacing the blower motor/fan.

it may be your blower motor. they are notorious for squealing. also and then a search here and youll notice ways to block off the air inlet under the front cowl where is wipers are. I used some old gutter guards that I cut to fit, continue leves, acorns and critters out
